THE EX FACTOR

My girlfriend, or should I say my now ex-girlfriend, Terry just broke up with me because she thought I wasn’t putting enough effort into our relationship.  I have no idea what she’s talking about.  I work the afternoon shift as a crane operator and she works the day shift as a secretary, but I still made time for her.  I bought her flowers, candy, chocolate, and even got Wicked tickets.  Do you have any idea how hard those are to get?  It’s been the hottest musical in Chicago for years.  I had to go completely out of my way to get those for her.  And I definitely got them for her.  I had no interest in seeing a musical and I would have fallen asleep during the thing if the singers hadn’t been so loud.  But she loved the show.  She keeps the used tickets in her purse just to show them off to all her friends and brag about what a good time she had.  Yes, she doesn’t brag what a good time we had, but the good time she had.  I knew she could be selfish when we first started dating, but I really liked her and kept thinking she’d open up to me and I’d start seeing different sides to her.  But she never opened up and basically yelled at me over and over.  So I’m not sorry it’s over.  I gave it my all.
