PICNIC IN THE BACKYARD
We are having a picnic in our back yard. We are celebrating having completed the bird feeders and the squirrel feeders. Grandma and Granddad are coming over and we will see how they look after we put them up. Granddad says it may take a little while for the animals to discover them, so he is putting them up the week before they come over for our backyard picnic. Besides that, we will get to have a lot of our family together. Grandma’s idea about the disaster recovery plan is working out well for me. I have been thinking about all the animals I see. They seem to have survived on their own before we moved in here, and I can’t even remember when we moved here. It must have been when I was a baby, or I would know a date close enough. And, the animals were here first I am sure. We humans are the ones who came and took over their forest and their home. We cut down most of the trees and got rid of their natural habitat. So now they have had to adapt to being around us. That does not sound like a good deal for them.
