I have this group of friends and we are all besides ourselves worrying about our friend, Kae. There are seven besides Kae who met while we were in college, and became fast friends for life.  We are trying to talk sense into Kae about her spending habits. We have come to realize that there is something going on much deeper than we thought with Kae. We initially thought she was just feeling insecure about some things in her life, and was shopping to make herself feel better. We don’t want her to file Chapter 7 as she keeps talking about, but after a couple of us had a talk with her, see how very serious her situation is. She is even on the verge of not being able to pay her car payment. We just hope things do get to the point where she can’t pay her rent. She is always borrowing money from she has earmarked for one bill, to pay another — the classic borrowing from Peter to pay Paul situation. We think it time we talked to her about getting some financial counseling. The next time she brings up her financial situation, whoever is with her at the moment is going to suggest it.
